Hear ye, hear ye! The holiday season is quickly approaching. Celebrate the holidays with your family, friends, and fellow Homeowners in Heritage by attending one or all of these holiday events in the town of Wake Forest.

“Lighting of Wake Forest” – Kick-off your holiday season at the annual Lighting of Wake Forest. This event will take place on Friday, December 2 in Centennial Plaza (301 S. Brooks Street) beginning at 5:30 p.m. with holiday music. Then at 6 p.m. Mayor Vivian Jones will light a 30-foot Christmas tree and Santa will then arrive on a fire truck at 6:30 p.m.:

“Pictures with Santa” – Christmas is not Christmas without getting a picture with Santa. Get your complimentary, up to three pictures per group or family taken on Friday, December 2 during the Lighting of Wake Forest between 6:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Pick up your time ticket starting at 5:30 p.m. in the town hall lobby. Santa will also be able for photo opportunities on Saturday, December 5 during the Downtown Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second floor of The Cotton Company Event Gallery (206 S. White Street), and on Saturday, December 12 before the Wake Forest Christmas Parade from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Fidelity Bank 231 S. White Street).  A professional photographer will be on hand to take your picture for free or you can take your own photo. Photos can be viewed and are available for purchase the Monday after your picture was taken at the Wake Forest CVS (245 E. Roosevelt Avenue):

“Christmas Historic Home Tour” – The even-numbered Christmas tour is back in 2016. Come out and hear holiday music and see beautifully decorated homes on Saturday, December 3 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are available for sale at $18 and on the day of the tour for $24 per person. “Downtown Holiday Open House” – On Saturday, December 3 the Downtown Holiday Open House will take place in historic downtown Wake Forest. This family-friendly event will include free refreshments at participating merchants in addition to face painting and other fun activities:

“Calls from Santa” – Kids aged three to nine are able to receive a Call from Santa on Thursday, December 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a free event but all calls made must be local and registration must be completed by 5 p.m. the day of the event. Register today at the Wake Forest Town Hall (301 S. Brooks Street) or complete a registration form online. Please note that you cannot register by calling. Only online or in person registrations will be accepted:

“Wake Forest Christmas Parade” – The 2016 Wake Forest Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 10 beginning at 1 p.m. Of course there will be Santa Claus. And more than 100 colorful floats will be featured in the parade, maybe with Homeowners in Heritage you know on them:
